hnb is now able to execute commands based on node content ^A is the default binding, and it reacts to mail addresses, http:// URLs and 'exec program' strings.
About hnb
hierarchical notebook(hnb) is a curses program to structure many kinds of data in one place, for example addresses, to-do lists, ideas, book reviews or to store snippets of brainstorming. Writing structured documents and speech outlines.
The default format is XML but hnb can also export to ASCII and HTML. External programs may be used for more advanced conversions of the XML data.
The program was created to scratch my personal itch for such a program. But feedback from other people using the program, suggesting features and understanding the source makes it even more satisfying to finally have the program.
